 | Eric Lapointe will be inducted to the Canadian Football Hall of FameOctober 17, 2011 Eric Lapointe is now financial advisor and turned the page on his football career. But football is to remember him forever! That is why his peers have decided that it will be inducted to the Canadian football Hall of Fame. Mr. Lapointe will be one of the guest speakers at the Insurance and Investment Convention 2011, on Wednesday November 16. He will speak at the Champions de la vente opening conference of the Convention at 7:30am. Former player of the Montreal Alouettes, he will join a select list of 258 players from Canadian football. This announcement was made Sunday, October 16. Five other players will join him to the Hall of Fame. They are Jack Abendschan, Damon Allen, Harvey Jones, Milt Stegall, David Braley and Peter Connellan. For Éric Lapointe, his university achievements opened him the door to this induction. "Many consider Lapointe as the best running back in the history of Canadian university football," said the Hall of Fame selection committee. He first joined the Mounties of Mount Allison University, New Brunswick, and was named Rookie of the Year in 1995. Lapointe also raised twice the trophy awarded to the best university player in Canada. After college football, Eric Lapointe has joined the Tiger-Cats, Argonauts and finally the Montreal Alouettes. After six years in Montreal, he retired from football in 2007. |
